PORT-AU-PRINCE, HAITI -- An orphan girl waits in the hallways of the City of God girls orphanage. Brother St. Vistal Pierre started a girls orphanage in December 1990 known as Centre d'Accueil FCCM in the Port-au-Prince area known as the City of God, one of the poorest areas of Haiti. As a 17-year old student at the monastery of Sain Gerard in Carrefour Feuille, Brother St. Vistal realized his mission was to help the children of Haiti. Today, the city of God orphanage shelters 45 girls ranging from ages 3-16 and many of these girls do not even know their own last names.

The facility does not have an established budget. "We will have to continue anyway possible," says Brother St. Vistal.
