"Before the Taliban, we had cows, livestock, sheep. Life here was very good. During the Taliban, those people were so cruel.....Now , our life is better than during the Taliban but not as good as before....But we are home, " says villager Javid.
Village survival is dependent on the aid and gifts from outside organizations. A young villager moves mules provided by world aid groups from the village on his way to pick up food aid supplies for his family.
