PENSACOLA, FLORIDA -- Hurricane Ivan hit Pensacola on Thursday, September 16, 2004 destroying the home of Lillie Mae Bogan, 82, standing on one of the blown out walls of the Old East Hill Pensacola home she has owned and lived in since 1962. She and her grandson Ruben Lee Lewis, 49, rode the storm out in the living room until the house collapsed around them and then spent the next 6 1/2 hours sitting in their Ford Taurus while Hurricane Ivan continued to rage on through Pensacolo.
